Lang go nine points clear

- Jim Logan at Rockburn Park

Cambuslang Rangers went nine points clear at the top with a hard fought win at bottom club Bellshill.

On a very heavy and sodden park, credit had to go to both sides who got stuck right into each other and served up a seven-goal thriller.

Cambuslang started the match well but it was the home team who opened the scoring on nine minutes. Brunton crossed to the edge of the area and Simon finished well past Iain Stewart.

The lead was short lived though as Cambuslang levelled three minutes later. The visitors were awarded a free kick and Gebbie slipped in Alessandro Savarese to slide the ball under the advancing keeper.

The home side were awarded a spot kick soon after when Ryan Kerr was ruled to have clipped Nicol inside the box. McCormack stepped up but Stewart in the Lang goal pulled off a fine stop by pushing the ball round the post.

The visitors got their noses in front on 21 minutes. Dale Simeon and Hal Bohme combined to create the space for Bohme to fire home from 12 yards.

But the home side were not for giving up and were once again level after some slack play at the back, this allowed Robertson time to pick his spot and he slotted past Stewart.

The Lang regained the lead five minutes after the break through a header from Mcbeth but conceded from the penalty spot.

Cambuslang introduced two debutants in the shape of Collinder and Hastings but it was Mcbeth who grabbed the winner on 85 minutes and his second of the game when he converted past Hill keeper McGraw.
