Our story about people having problems getting GP appointments in Rutherglen and Cambuslang prompted a lot of debate on social media. Here’s what you had to say: “Rubbish. It’s same day appointments if you phone from 8am. I’ve called Stonelaw practice as late as 11am and still got to see a doctor.”- Sandra Effie Arnott
“Joke of a service. Sandra you must be the only person in the whole of Rutherglen/ Cambuslang area that’s been able to do that.”- Kenneth McGall
“You must be lucky or I’m really unlucky. Every time I phone I can’t get through and not a good time to phone at 8.30am when you have got kids to get ready and get to school and work. I personally think the old way was the best, I could phone after work and get an appointment the next day.”- Ann-Marie Lithgow
“I’ve never had a problem either. Even using the app on my phone I’ve got same day appointments.”- Clara Belle
“Like most on here I’ve found it difficult to get through. The phone rings and rings, no one picks up or engaged constantly. As I don’t stay far from the practise, I usually give up and walk round and must say I do get a same day appointment but I would say there is an issue with the phones.”- John Tennent
“We have never had a problem with appointments at our practice. Every time we’ve genuinely had an emergency we’ve been seen that day.”- Katie Sturgeon
“I’ve never had a problem getting an appointment at Rutherglen practice, all the problems seem to be in Cambuslang.”- Gary Stevenson
“Constant problems with Rutherglen health centre. Phone at 8am and the lines are so busy it doesn’t even connect to the automated voicemail service to direct your call. By the time you get through there’s nothing left or you’re being told you’ve to leave work to make an appointment in an hour’s time.”- Rebekah Colligan
