It was a family affair as the prizes were handed out in the Brian Logue Photography competition.

Stonelaw pupil Hannah May, 13, scooped the top prize for her snap of a tulip in her garden.

And big sister Rebecca’s snap of an autumnal tree was picked by Brian’s family as the runner-up.

Last week Hannah received the Brian Logue trophy from Reformer editor Douglas Dickie.

She will also win £ 75 courtesy of Media Scotland.

A delighted Hannah confessed: “I don’t really remember taking the photo, I take a lot of photos.

“I’m quite happy I’ve won.”

And proving there is no sibling rivalry, Rebecca, 16, also a pupil at Stonelaw, said: “I’m not jealous at all, I’m really happy for her.”

The competition has been held the past three years to honour Reformer photographer Bri a n Logue, who passed away in December 2013.

Both sisters said they remembered Brian from community and school events.

Third place went to KatieBeth Gibson, 7, who took a snap of a toy lion beside a “Beware Lion” sign in Cambuslang with the help of her brother, Alexander 11.

Brian’s wife Annette said: “The standard was outstanding, which made the selection very difficult. It makes me feel so proud to see the interest shown by so many of the local school pupils.”

His daughter, Julie Smith, added: “The entries this year for the Brian Logue competition have been incredible and there are some real talented snappers in our local area.

“Photography was not only my dad’s job but his biggest passion. He always said ‘a good picture stops a moment slipping away’.

“He would have loved the fact this competition was done in his honour and has inspired people.”

Two additional prizes of £25 Tesco vouchers courtesy of the store in Burnside were selected by the Reformer.

We chose Brooke Tiffoney’s snap of her baby niece Gracey holding the finger of her mum, Toni, and Aiden and Hollie Hart’s snap of their two-year-old brother Riley.
