Stonelaw Church’s Cafe@The Meeting Place is open Monday to Saturday from 10.30am-2.30pm.

Tea and coffee is available, along with home baking and a second-hand book stall.

Stonelaw Church has also started holding 30 minute services in the Meeting Place on the first Wednesday of every month at 2pm, followed by tea and coffee until 3pm.

All are welcome to attend, and these services are aimed at those who can’t attend a Sunday service.

St Bride’s Church will hold a family night this Friday, February 17.

All locals are welcome to bring some juice and snacks along and attend an evening of fun. It starts at 6.30pm. The Bible class, which studies the Sunday readings, will be on Thursday at 7pm.

St Columbkill­e’s Church is offering a chance to have a cuppa every day of the week after 10am mass.

There will be a hot cup of tea or coffee and roll with bacon or sausage. All proceeds will go towards keeping the church hall functionin­g.

The craft group at St Columbkill­e’s is holding a tombola and baking stall in aid of the First Tuesday Club in the Hall on Tuesday March 7 from 11am until 3pm as part of Internatio­nal Women’s Day.

Donations of baking and unwanted gifts will be gratefully accepted. King’s Park Parish Church has a range of activities on offer over the next week.

These include: Zumba class, caterpilla­r music, mother and toddlers group, mixed badminton, messy church, community cafe, God Tok, pathfinder­s, carpet bowls and youth club. Go to www. kingsparkc­hurch.co.uk or call 0141 636 8688 for details.

The church will also hold their AGM on Sunday March 5.

King’s Park also managed to raise money for charity before Christmas.

Their Star Appeal and Christmas Eve offerings raised a total of £1070 for bladder cancer research.

Rutherglen’s Salvation Army continue to have a host of events going on, including toddler groups, the jam club and singing groups.

Croftfoot United Free Church hold T In The Croft every Friday from 10am until noon.

They also hold Lunch at the Croft on the first Friday of the month from 11.30am-1.30pm. Entry is £1.50. They will be holding a special event on Saturday, March 18. The community event will feature a bouncy castle, craft activities, and lots of other fun things.

Castlemilk Parish Church hold community meals on the first and third Fridays of the month. Soup, pizza and pavlova are available from 6-8pm along with live music.

The church has also launched a monthly initiative called Treasure Hunters. They will take a street per month and spend some time getting to know who lives there, who works there and form connection­s between that street and the church. Flemington Hallside Church hold a community cafe each Thursday from noon until 2pm.

The women’s guild meet on Wednesdays at 7pm while ‘friendly hour’, a group for the elderly, takes place on Thursday afternoons at 2pm.

Burnside Blairbeth Church’s Messy Church services continue to take place every month.

It starts with an hour of crafts and games and is followed by a celebratio­n with a Bible story and singing, finishing with a two-course meal.

Cambuslang Parish Church’s community cafe is open every Wednesday from 10am until noon. Rutherglen West and Wardlawhil­l Church will hold a ceilidh supper dance on February 25.

The church’s friendship cafe runs every Tuesday from 10am-noon. A men’s shed has started up in Rutherglen Baptist Community Church. The objective of men’s shed is to give men who have time on their hands a place to meet.

A workshop area will be built at one end of the hall, with a relaxation area available to sit and chat and put the world to rights over a cup of tea.
