but there will definitely be a lot of people there.

“I want to have a good start to the year and hopefully have bigger things at the end of the year too.”

Jordan, 25, has won 11 and lost only twice since turning professional and reckons Saturday is as good an opportunity as ever to put his hard work into action.

The former Trinity High School pupil has been training constantly since this last bout in December. He dealt Englishman Fonz Alexander two brutal blows and a cut to his eye to secure another solid victory in the ring before taking the contest on points.

“I’ve just been doing what I was the last time I had a big fight,” Jordan said.

“I’ve been training three times a day with different types of training.

“When I’m not boxing I’m out running and then work on my strength and conditioning so I’ve not been cutting any corners. I’ve been trying to keep the weight down too.”

Jordan’s best friend and fellow MGM Scotland fighter Ross Murray is also on Saturday’s bill.

The 35-year-old from Castlemilk was due to go up against Motherwell’s Adam MacKenzie in one of the six-round fights in the weekend event.

But the 24-year-old has pulled out due to injury and Ross will have to wait to find out his opponent.

“I’ll 100 per cent be fighting and I’ll find out this week who it will be,” he said.

“It was going to be a good fight as well with an all Scottish clash but he’s pulled out. There’s nothing you can do, it’s a bit of a nightmare but that’s what happens.

“Training has went well. I had a good break over Christmas but was back to training on Boxing Day.”

Tickets are available for next month’s fight night by searching for MGM Scotland on Ticketmaster.
