Brave Claire in court to finger violent robber

caught by cops and was sentenced to five years in jail last week.

Claire was in court to identify the man who terrorised her.

She described the experience as “horrendous” adding: “Before I walked in my lawyer told me he couldn’t say if the person who done it was in court. I was a bit worried about it, I thought his team would try and trick me.

“When I walked in I realised how small the court was and when I turned to my right I saw him staring right through me.

“I was terrified, I actually thought I was going to be sick, but I just thought I needed to do it.

“I opted out of having the screen but at the last minute I really regretted it. There was no remorse in his eyes.

“If he had shown any remorse I think it would have made me feel better. “But he denied everything. “I had to sit through the following day when he gave his evidence. His voice really brought it all back for me, I knew it was him and I could hear him threatening us.”

The court heard that Claire initially thought her husband, Steven, had returned from a nightshift, but she was startled when she heard Ferguson’s voice.

Claire told the High Court in Glasgow:“He was shouting, swearing, telling me to get downstairs.

“He was saying:‘Give me everything’.”

The thug then turned his attention to a nine-year-boy who had also been sleeping in the room.

Ferguson booted the innocent child and screamed at him to“f****** move”.

Claire told prosecutor Mark McGuire:“When I asked him to leave, he said I had two minutes to get my a*** downstairs or I was getting it.”

Claire also blasted the five-year sentence handed down to Ferguson, who has a string of previous convictions:“I don’t think five years is enough but the lawyer reckons that was more than he expected.”
