Drugs haul in Cambuslang

A cocaine and cannabis haul, with an estimated street value of £750, was discovered in a Cambuslang home last Wednesday.

The class A and class B drugs were discovered when police obtained a warrant to search a property at Teith Place at 11.10am on March 22.

Ryan Hill, 31, later appeared at Hamilton Sheriff Court where he pleaded guilty to possessing drugs with intent to supply.

He was released on bail to re-appear on April 20.

Cannabis plants worth an estimated £14,000 have been recovered from a house in Castlemilk.

The cultivatio­n of 11 plants was discovered when police attended the property on a separate issue in the early hours of Thursday morning.

A 31-year-old man was later charged with producing the class B drug and a report has been sent to the procurator fiscal.

A woman who crashed and abandoned a car in Cambuslang was allegedly driving without a valid license.

The 32-year-old is alleged to have collided with a stationary vehicle when she was driving a car on Bridge Street on March 21.

She is also accused of fleeing the scene, but was found a short time later. The woman has been charged with failing to provide her details at the scene of an accident, of driving with only a provisiona­l licence and of driving without insurance.

The vehicle was seized by police and a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.

A bus driver was treated for chest pain after he was involved in a head-on collision with a transit van.

The vehicles collided near to the Credit Union on Hamilton Road, Cambuslang, shortly after midday on Thursday.

The male driver of the white van made off after the crash and police are asking all those who witnessed the incident to come forward.

Witnesses and those who know the identity of the driver are asked to contact Cambuslang Police Station on telephone number 101.

Thieves targeted the greyhound racing venue at around 2.30am on Friday morning. They stole diesel and a number of other items.

All those with informatio­n in relation to th break-in are asked to call Rutherglen Police Office on 101.
