Never too late to start learning

-

A free event to promote lifelong learning is being held on May 5 to encourage Rutherglen and Cambuslang residents to think about how they can learn new skills.

Organised by South Lanarkshire Council’s community learning and home school partnership, it will be held at the University of the West of Scotland’s Hamilton Campus.

The day will run from 10am until 3pm and will give participants the chance to try out a range of sports activities, enjoy a pamper session or try their hand at practical skills like cake decorating or weaving.

There will be a range of information stalls and community groups to offer support and the University of the West of Scotland, New Lanarkshire College and South Lanarkshire College will all be there to offer advice on a range of courses.

There will also be the chance to get a basic health and fitness check or have a bowens therapy session free of charge.

Anne Donaldson, head of education at South Lanarkshire Council said: “This event looks set to offer something for everyone.”
