RBS under fire for decision

-

The news that the Royal Bank of Scotland in Burnside is set to shut prompted outrage among readers on social media this week. Here is what you had to say: “So the one in Cambuslang closes and I was told to use Burnside as local bank, now this one to close too. This is ridiculous. I will have to use the city centre branch on my lunch break through the week and end up being late back to work due to queues.“- Kenny McIntyre

“The branch is always busy and sometimes you have to wait up to half-an-hour depending on how many folk are in front of you and how long they take to do their transactions.“- Margaret Brown

“As a small business I make a lot of use of the Burnside branch. I have contacted RBS asking them to re-consider otherwise I will move to a different bank. I would urge everyone else to do the same.”- John Gordon

“Trying to force everyone into digital banking. Banks no longer at centre of communities.”- Helen Harvey

“Need to go into Glasgow shortly for a local bank. No where near me I might add. Shocking really in this day and age.”

“Make a good cafe.”- Walter Mcluckie

“I like having a bank to go to and speaking to a person.” - Ranjana Smith

“Great, Blantyre is also closing. I live in Cambuslang, my shop is in Cambuslang. I need to rush to the bank during lunch or straight after closing the shop for the day. I can’t get parked at Rutherglen or Burnside during a mad dash. They have to keep one of them open. To be honest preferably Blantyre because at least you can park in Asda.”- Zoe Carville White

“When Cambuslang closed I was told to use Rutherglen but there’s no parking there.“
