SNP still obsessed with indyref

-

Dear Editor I’ve been following some of the SNP candidates in this election and what they have been focusing on online.

It seems that yet again their obsession with the constitution is coming before anything else.

Indeed, last week I watched when in Holyrood Nationalist ministers delivered a rushed set of statements on issues like the mesh scandal, failing mental health strategies and a u-turn on enterprise boards.

This week the first minister has gone campaigning for Scottish independence in America.

Yet at home, expectant mothers are being turned away from supposedly flagship hospitals, the new Forth Road Bridge has been delayed and our shambles of a rail service shows no sign of improvement.

When it comes to the council elections next month, it is becoming crystal clear that only Labour will put our own communities first instead of obsessing over a second divisive referendum.

I remember the way it dominated every aspect of political life only a couple of years ago.

Out and about and speaking to people in Cambuslang East, it’s apparent there’s no appetite for another referendum. Labour will keep standing up for our communities; the SNP will keep obsessing with independence. Stuart Gallacher Labour candidate for Cambuslang East
