A Cambuslang woman has pled guilty to dealing a Class A drug to a man.

Margaret Kinnaird, of Oak Drive, supplied diamorphine to Saimer Kaptelli at Gordon Street on December 18, 2015.

The 40-year-old will return to court on May 10 for the offence. Kaptelli, who was charged with having the drug on his possession, pled not guilty at Glasgow Sheriff Court on April 12. The trial of a man accused of driving on to the opposite side of the road and forcing traffic to take evasive action has been adjourned.

John Campbell Leonard of Rona Terrace, Cambuslang, is alleged to have driven, what is believed to be an Audi TT, on Western Road whilst holding a provisional licence, unsupervised and without displaying “L” plates.

The 29-year-old, who is also accused of driving the vehicle without the proper insurance on July 19, 2015, was further charged with driving dangerously on roads including Hamilton Drive and Greenlees Road.

He is believed to have driven at excessive speed for the prevailing conditions and entered the opposing carriageway to overtake vehicles, forcing them to take evasive action to avoid a collision.

Leonard has had his trial adjourned for May 5 at Glasgow Sheriff Court.
