Woman foundguilty

A Cam­bus­lang woman has pled guilty to deal­ing a Class A drug to a man.

Mar­garet Kin­naird, of Oak Drive, sup­plied di­amor­phine to Saimer Kaptelli at Gor­don Street on De­cem­ber 18, 2015.

The 40-year-old will re­turn to court on May 10 for the of­fence. Kaptelli, who was charged with hav­ing the drug on his pos­ses­sion, pled not guilty at Glas­gow Sher­iff Court on April 12. The trial of a man ac­cused of driv­ing on to the op­po­site side of the road and forc­ing traf­fic to take eva­sive ac­tion has been ad­journed.

John Camp­bell Leonard of Rona Ter­race, Cam­bus­lang, is al­leged to have driven, what is be­lieved to be an Audi TT, on Western Road whilst hold­ing a pro­vi­sional li­cence, un­su­per­vised and with­out dis­play­ing “L” plates.

The 29-year-old, who is also ac­cused of driv­ing the ve­hi­cle with­out the proper in­sur­ance on July 19, 2015, was fur­ther charged with driv­ing dan­ger­ously on roads in­clud­ing Hamil­ton Drive and Green­lees Road.

He is be­lieved to have driven at ex­ces­sive speed for the pre­vail­ing con­di­tions and en­tered the op­pos­ing car­riage­way to over­take ve­hi­cles, forc­ing them to take eva­sive ac­tion to avoid a col­li­sion.

Leonard has had his trial ad­journed for May 5 at Glas­gow Sher­iff Court.
