Cambuslang opera singer Anna Heywood is performing in Glasgow next month.

The show on May 20 will enhance her growing reputation.

Featuring opera, jazz and musical theatre, the show will also feature performers from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.

It follows a similar show last year held to raise money so she could attend an Italian opera school.

Anna said: “I was overwhelmed last year by the support of my family and friends, as well as people I didn’t even know.

“I’m really looking forward to it but I am a little apprehensive about numbers and things like that.

“I will be very exposed and singing a tricky repertoire.”

Anna has previously appeared in a production of ‘The Marriage of Figaro’ in a theatre just outside Paris. It went on to be performed in London.

She also sang in front of an audience of thousands in Wales when supporting the London Welsh Male Voice Choir.

The show takes place at Renfield St Stephen’s on Glasgow’s Bath Street. Tickets are priced at £10/£15 and can be bought from www. eventbrite.co.uk or on the door.
