Lizsteps downas council chair
Liz Arbuckle has stepped down from her role as chair of the Rutherglen and Cambuslang Sports Council after three years.
She has volunteered with the sports council for 17 years and will continue as a member.
In that time, Liz has volunteered at the International Children’s Games and Commonwealth Games while also carrying out her role as Asda Toryglen’s community champion.
Known as a very hands-on chairwoman, Liz helped organise the annual sports awards that have become a feature of the Rutherglen and Cambuslang sports diary.
The sports council are now looking for new members as well as someone to take on the role of chairperson.
Their AGM will take place on Sunday, May 28, at 1pm in the South Lanarkshire Lifestyle centre in Eastfield., Glenside Dive, Eastfield, Rutherglen G73 3LH .
