Liz Ar­buckle has stepped down from her role as chair of the Ruther­glen and Cam­bus­lang Sports Coun­cil af­ter three years.

She has vol­un­teered with the sports coun­cil for 17 years and will con­tinue as a mem­ber.

In that time, Liz has vol­un­teered at the In­ter­na­tional Chil­dren’s Games and Com­mon­wealth Games while also car­ry­ing out her role as Asda To­ry­glen’s com­mu­nity cham­pion.

Known as a very hands-on chair­woman, Liz helped or­gan­ise the an­nual sports awards that have be­come a fea­ture of the Ruther­glen and Cam­bus­lang sports di­ary.

The sports coun­cil are now look­ing for new mem­bers as well as some­one to take on the role of chair­per­son.

Their AGM will take place on Sun­day, May 28, at 1pm in the South La­nark­shire Life­style cen­tre in East­field., Glen­side Dive, East­field, Ruther­glen G73 3LH .
