Police assault case delayed
The case against a Rutherglen man charged with repeatedly kicking a police constable on the body has been delayed until August.
Edward McEwan was due to stand trial for assaulting a police officer on April 18.
The 44-year-old, of Tobermory Road, is also claimed to have shouted, swore, uttered threats and struggled violently with officers by lashing out with his legs at his home address.
But at the hearing at Glasgow Sheriff Court on April 18, McEwan was told to return for an intermediate trial diet on August 9, with a trial date set for September 5.
He denies all charges against him.
