Glasgow Council seat sup for grabs
Voters in Toryglen, Castlemilk, King’s Park and Croftfoot will also go to the polls tomorrow, Thursday, to elect representatives on Glasgow City Council.
The city is currently a Labour majority but the SNP will be confident of taking control having won every constituency at the last General and Scottish elections.
Castlemilk and Croftfoot lie within the Linn ward while King’s Park and Toryglen are in the Langside ward.
Across the city, residents will elect 85 councillors from 23 wards. A total of 209 candidates will participate from 12 parties along with 14 independents. The candidates are: Linn ward (electing four members) - Euan Blockley (Con), Max Brodie (Solidarity), Margot Clark (Lib Dem), John Cowan (UKIP), Malcolm Cunning (Lab), Alan Digney (Green), Glenn Elder (SNP), Paul Leinster (SNP), Cathy Milligan (Ind), Margaret Morgan (SNP), Bobby Pollock (Ind), Alan Stewart (Lab).
Langside ward (electing four members) - Susan Aitken (SNP), Jane Collins (UKIP), Archie Graham (Lab), Thomas Haddow (Con), Kevin Lewsey (Lib Dem), Steven Livingston (Lab), Anna Richardson (SNP), Ronnie Stevenson (STUSC), Tanya Wisely (Green).
