Spring garden saleat Scouts

- Douglas Dickie

Green fingered residents will have a chance to buy plants for their gardens this Saturday, May 6.

The 113th (Burnside) Scout Group are holding their annual plant sale and coffee morning on that date.

The sale, which will be held in the Scout Hall, Crawfurd Road, Burnside, will be open from 10am until 1pm for customers wishing to buy plants.

There will be plenty of bedding plants, bushes and arrangements on sale to enhance any garden, as well as a bookstall and tea room.

Group committee member Jim Bolton said: “This is our annual plant sale and is eagerly awaited by gardeners in the local community.

“It comes at a time when, hopefully, the problems of frost have gone and gardens are ready to be filled up with plants for the summer.

“All our plants are reasonably priced and should suit all pockets.

“As well as selling plants we would welcome any donations from friends to sell and welcome donations of home baking and sweets for the tearoom and cake and candy stall.”
