TV stardom for nursery
A Cambuslang nursery are set for a taste of small screen fame after being picked to appear in an advert promoting an eco-friendly charity.
Hollytree Nursery, on Baywillow Court in Drumsagard, will be seen in the upcoming ad, which is for the Surfers Against Sewage group and is highlighting pollution in oceans.
The advert features nursery pupil Freya Muir, who holds a seashell up to her ear and recoils in horror at the pain of the ocean that she hears.
Stacy Taylor, a staff member at the nursery, played the role of Freya’s teacher in the clip.
After being selected to host the shoot, nursery manager Donna Brown worked with the crew in casting children and setting up and creating displays for a beach and ocean theme in the background.
Over the course of a few weeks images of the playrooms and layout were sent to ensure the right space for filming, with youngsters then playing in the background as the advert takes place.
Donna said : “As an eco school flag award-winning nursery, reduction of pollution among other eco topics are very important to us.
“We have various eco projects led at the nursery by our eco co-ordinator Stephanie Miller , such as power off weeks, recycling and the Nessie bin scheme for recycling clothes on site at the nursery.
“The children involved in the filming were really confident and willing to talk about our Eco Schools.
“They were completely genuine playing in the background and Freya took direction from the crew really well and was a natural in front of the camera.
“I am really proud Hollytree has had the opportunity to be involved, and support one of the best recognised marine conservation charities in the UK, Surfers Against Sewage.
“Parents and staff alike have all been delighted with the outcome.”
The advert was produced by Mallinson Television Productions.
Their previous work includes ads by companies such as Lidl, Royal Bank of Scotland, Scottish Power and Irn Bru.
