Comic artist’s work on display

A Rutherglen comic book artist’s work is being showcased in an ongoing exhibition.

Last week the Reformer detailed the career of Vincent Deighan, who works under the name Frank Quitely.

Vin has drawn for the biggest comic book companies in the world, including Marvel Comics and DC Comics, and worked with famous writers like Grant Morrison and Mark Millar.

He has illustrate­d the likes of Superman, Batman, Judge Dredd and the X-Men, as well as many independen­t comics.

Vin stays in Cathkin and told the Reformer last week that the area provides plenty of inspiratio­n for his work.

Away from comics he has worked on other projects, including an album cover by Robbie Williams.

Frank Quitely: The Art of Comics is at Kelvingrov­e Museum, Glasgow now and runs until October 1, 2017.

Tickets cost £7 per adult/ £5 per concession, children under 16 £3, with under 3s free. A family ticket is £15.
