Green
I care deeply about the Cambuslang community having been born in Rutherglen Maternity Hospital and spent most of my life in Cambuslang before moving to Blantyre. I previously worked with Turning Point Scotland, working with individuals with a history of homelessness and addiction and still retain an interest in these issues.
I also have an interest in carer issues, being a carer myself for my mother. I became my mother’s carer three years ago after the death of my stepfather in the Clutha disaster. I have been active in politics my entire life having previously been secretary of the local Scottish Socialist Party.
I have also been actively involved with the pro-Independence movement having been involved with both Yes Rutherglen and a founding member of Yes Blantyre. As a committed socialist I now feel that the Scottish Green Party is the best vehicle to advance socialist policies in Scotland.
