Born and reared in Cambuslang I am confident that being the Cambuslang independent will bring a much needed fresh outlook to local politics.

To my mind the main parties have failed us in many respects. Cambuslang seems to have lost much of its old village vitality, an atmosphere many of us well remember.

I would focus on economic regeneration, bringing jobs to the area as a priority. Planning, transport, highways, housing and associated services require essential local consultation and approval. I would be to establish a comprehensive plan of action to enable the public to monitor council actions. The promotion of care for the elderly and improved amenities will be a strong concern of mine. I would encourage the cooperation of our charity and voluntary organisations to coordinate with each other to share information. I worked in Glasgow for the Home Office .
