Action-packed fun at new-look tennis club
Free coaching, plus accuracy and serve challenges
Cambuslang Tennis Club is hosting an action-packed open day this weekend.
The club, which is based just off Buchanan Drive on Central Avenue, have been extremely busy over the past few months sprucing up both the exterior and interior of the club in a bid to attract new members.
The biggest project has been the completion of the fourth court which has been transformed from a derelict weed infested area to a fantastic new hard court, complete with mini tennis lines and practice wall.
A number of dedicated members have also been hard at work ensuring the court surrounds are pleasing on the eye. Inside, the clubhouse now has a comfortable seating area for members and visitors to sit and watch the tennis.
And now members of the public will have the chance to enjoy the hard work which has gone into the club by attending the open day on Saturday, May 20, from 1-4pm.
The afternoon will feature a variety of tennis related fun suitable for newcomers and seasoned players.
There will be free coaching sessions from club coaches for children as young as three-years-old as well as specific parent and child sessions.
In addition there will be tennis related games and fun accuracy based challenges as well as the opportunity to test the power of a serve with a prize for the fastest recorded serve of the day.
Rackets and balls will be provided for those who do not own their own and there will be complimentary buffet snacks provided by local Indian restaurant, Cinnamon.
Those who are competitively minded will enjoy the American tournament that will run throughout the course of the afternoon.
An exclusive ‘summer club saver’ membership will also be launched on the day. An entire household can sign up for an eight-week membership and the opportunity to ‘test the club’ for only £35.
