Bankies in pole position

- Murray Spooner

Super First Division

Clydebank switched places with Glencairn at the top of the table following a 5-0 demolition of Maryhill. Striker Nicky Little scored a hat-trick of headers to add to the scoring and put The Bankies three points clear.

Third-placed Kilsyth Rangers have been in free-fall in recent weeks and their poor run of form continued with a shock 5-1 loss at Petershill.

Ayrshire outfit Girvan, who The Glens have defeated twice this season, put together wins over Maryhill and Shotts this week to go fourth. The Seasiders could go top of the league if they win their two games in hand.

Shettleston’s promotion bid was derailed with a 4-3 loss to Irvine Victoria while Irvine Meadow edged Yoker 2-1.

Central District First

Cambuslang Rangers were promoted to the Super League First thanks to Larkhall’s 2-1 victory over St Roch’s.

Benburb drew 2-2 with Forth to keep their hopes of a top-half finish alive.

Lang’s next opponents Neilston drew 1-1 at relegated Johnstone Burgh.

Wishaw Juniors ended their season with a 3-2 defeat to Thorniewood.
