School set for a starring role on Countryfile
We ask what is your favourite TV programme
As Ruglonians tuned in to watch Trinity High School on BBC’s Countryfile, the Reformer took to the streets to ask locals what their favourite TV show is.
We reported last week that the high school’s eco-garden and new bee hives were filmed as part of Countryfile’s visit to Lanarkshire.
The programme saw presenter Ellie Harrison chat with Trinity students, while Matt Baker visited the Clyde Valley, once known as the ‘fruit basket of Scotland’.
Speaking to the Reformer just before the programme broadcast, Catherine McCann said: “I watch Countryfile every week. I like the stories from the countryside especially when you live in an urban area.
“I’ll be keeping an eye out for the school this week.”
Avid gardener Mary Quinn is also a fan of the show.
“It’s really interesting, you get to see the animals and different things,” Mary said. “Lanark has a lot of garden centres, with all the different flowers and greenhouses, it’s pretty popular up that way.”
Norman Rae said he enjoys nature programmes, adding: “I favour documentaries certainly. I bought Planet Earth in 4K, that’s four times higher than high definition.
“I find it all extraordinary and really fascinating.”
Jackie Wood said: “Now I know the school is featuring, I’ll be watching this week.
“Homeland, that’s my favourite programme on TV at the moment.
I favour documentaries certainly Norman Rae
