It’s a real baby shower for the nursery staff
It’s time to meet up
Six pals from a Cambuslang nursery who gave birth just weeks apart let their babies meet for the first time.
In March the Reformer reported that seven staff members at the Upstairs Kidz Club had all fallen pregnant within months of one another.
The cycle was finally completed on April 13 when Michelle Seery, 28, gave birth to baby Sean and Laura McGladrigan, 28, saw the arrival of twins Aria and Andi.
And this month they were joined back at their work by Pamela Lamb, 25, and Sophie, Michelle Gemmell, 30, and Paige, Kimberly O’Donnell, 25, and Orla and Heather McKee Adair, 27, and Lawson.
The first of that group, Sophie, arrived on January 12, meaning there was just 86 days between the births.
Another workmate, Stacey Callaghan, 26, who gave birth to Hunter in September last year, did not make the catch-up,
Michelle Gemmell, whose daughter Paige was born in January, said: “Because we are all from different areas we hadn’t all been together since the last babies were born.
“It was nice to get to meet them and compare weights and things like that.”
Michelle now hopes the babies go on to be friends as the grow up.
“I don’t know what will happen but we are all really close.
A lot of us have been working for years together and it was really nice to have the chance of a wee day out.
“Hopefully they grow up to be friends.
“They might even all go to this nursery together which would be fantastic.”
The births did come to a shock to the nursery, but Michelle said: “They’ve got maternity cover in now and all the girls have settled well.
“It seems to be running quite well.”
New friends The girls were delighted to introduce the babies to each other
