The Clyde Refrigeration Invitation Rinks will take place on Saturday, June 3, the draw will be made on Monday night so any teams still to enter are encouraged to do so before then.

The Gilliland League team kept up their 100 per cent winning record with another convincing win over St Leonards last week. This week’s opponents are the unbeaten Croftfoot. An away win would virtually assure Halfway of a place in the final with a game to spare.

Next week the opponents are Templeton at home. Jack Wilson will represent the club in the RDBA under 16s and will play his quarter final tie at Kirkhill on Saturday morning at 10am.

In the Gilliland League, Dougie Johnston, Scott Stevenson, Christopher Allan and Marc Stirratt (skip) again did the club proud by producing a convincing win against Tollcross.

The last week also saw success for Burnside in the Glasgow Bowling Association games with the pairs, triples and senior four’s all producing victories. The club would like to say a very well done to them all.

The under 45s team proved that youth can also be victorious when they won their game against Kirkhill.

The one cloud in a successful week was when both teams in the Cambuslang and District Senior four’s failed to deliver a victory.

The draw has now been completed for the nominated pairs ties and are now displayed on the club notice boards. The club would like to remind everyone to arrange their ties as quickly as possible.

Work has now started on the tennis courts and everyone at the club is looking forward to the renovations being completed.
