Trial date for man accused of pushing another down stairs

A new trial date has been set for the court case of a Rutherglen man accused of pushing another man down stairs and resisting arrest.

James Drummond, of Trossachs Road, is alleged to have committed the offences at Mill Street in the town on September 28.

The 62-year-old was charged with resisting arrest by throwing his arms around to avoid being handcuffed, shouting, swearing and acting in an aggressive manner.

Drummond is now set to stand trial at Glasgow Sheriff Court on November 8.
