Assault and drug charge

A Croftfoot man will stand trial for punching a man on the head whilst being in possession of a class C drug in Glasgow city centre.

Brian Irwin, 37, and his co-accused Scott Low, 41, from Drumchapel are accused of assaulting the man at Argyle Street on October 12, 2016.

Both men are said to have punched him on the head and chased him. Low was further charged with assaulting him with and being in possession of a knuckleduster, while Irwin, an Ashcroft Drive resident, is alleged to have had diazepam on his possession.

The accused are expected to attend Glasgow Sheriff Court for trial on July 6.
