Two accused of assault

Two Cambuslang men appeared in court, accused of assaulting a man and woman on the town’s Main Street.

Balbir Singh, 44, and Navjot Singh Gosal, 29, are alleged to have pursued the woman, seized her on the body, repeatedly punched and kicked her, knocked her to the ground and then repeatedly punched and kicked her on the body.

Singh, of Christie Place, and Gosal of Newton Avenue, were further charged with pushing a man on the body and attempting to kick and punch him.

They denied the charges and are set to stand trial at Glasgow Sheriff Court on July 3.
