Duo short­listed for city awards

An or­gan­i­sa­tion famed for mak­ing life bet­ter for Ru­glo­ni­ans and an Indian restau­rant favourite have been short­listed in the Glas­gow Awards.

Healthy n’ Happy Com­mu­nity Devel­op­ment Trust and the Blue Ru­pee have been named fi­nal­ists in the awards which recog­nise peo­ple and or­gan­i­sa­tions that con­trib­ute to mak­ing life in Glas­gow so great.

Ex­tended to the Glas­gow sub­urbs, the awards have seen Healthy n’ Happy short­listed for the best com­mu­nity ini­tia­tive prize.

The Blue Ru­pee in Burn­side has been named in the top 10 fi­nal­ists for the Indian Restau­rant of the Year.

A spokesman for Healthy n Happy said: “The whole of Healthy n Happy, from vol­un­teers to staff and our board are thrilled with re­ceiv­ing the nom­i­na­tion for best com­mu­nity ini­tia­tive.

“We are con­stantly striv­ing to pro­mote well­be­ing, re­silience and com­mu­nity lead­er­ship through our var­i­ous projects.”

The awards are or­gan­ised by Cre­ative Oceanic, an events and com­mu­ni­ca­tions agency. Ir­fan You­nis, CEO of the busi­ness, said: “We are de­lighted by the sup­port we have had from the pub­lic who have voted for their favourites to show them the ap­pre­ci­a­tion they de­serve.”

Winners of the Glas­gow Awards will be an­nounced at a black tie event at The Crowne Plaza Ho­tel, Glas­gow on Tues­day, June 27.
