An organisation famed for making life better for Ruglonians and an Indian restaurant favourite have been shortlisted in the Glasgow Awards.

Healthy n’ Happy Community Development Trust and the Blue Rupee have been named finalists in the awards which recognise people and organisations that contribute to making life in Glasgow so great.

Extended to the Glasgow suburbs, the awards have seen Healthy n’ Happy shortlisted for the best community initiative prize.

The Blue Rupee in Burnside has been named in the top 10 finalists for the Indian Restaurant of the Year.

A spokesman for Healthy n Happy said: “The whole of Healthy n Happy, from volunteers to staff and our board are thrilled with receiving the nomination for best community initiative.

“We are constantly striving to promote wellbeing, resilience and community leadership through our various projects.”

The awards are organised by Creative Oceanic, an events and communications agency. Irfan Younis, CEO of the business, said: “We are delighted by the support we have had from the public who have voted for their favourites to show them the appreciation they deserve.”

Winners of the Glasgow Awards will be announced at a black tie event at The Crowne Plaza Hotel, Glasgow on Tuesday, June 27.
