Rutherglen Reformer - - Memory Lane -

A Falklands war veteran, his pregnant wife and their three young children had been living in one damp Rutherglen room because council red tape was stopping them from being rehoused.

A young bride’s wedding reception was thrown into chaos just weeks before her big day when the hotel holding it told her she needed to stump up extra cash.

Rutherglen and Toryglen Community Council were to renew their campaign for a second community bus for the area, specifically to help local handicapped people.

Tommy McAvoy became Rutherglen and Cambuslang’s first new MP in 23 years.

A Toryglen playscheme faced closure due to a lack of volunteers.
