St Columbkill­e’s Church will host a Classrooms for Malawi Celebrate Summer fundraiser this Saturday, June 24 from 7.30pm until midnight. The event will be held in St Columbkill­e’s Church Hall and will include a quiz. Tickets are £5 on the door. They are also offering a chance to have a cuppa every day of the week after 10am mass. There will be a hot cup of tea or coffee and roll with bacon or sausage. All proceeds will go towards keeping the church hall functionin­g. The church are also appealing for volunteers to contribute some time on Thursday mornings to clean the church. For a trial period this will happen weekly after 10am Mass on Thursdays. Croftfoot United Free Church hold T In The Croft every Friday from 10am until noon. They also hold Lunch at the Croft on the first Friday of the month from 11.30am to 1.30pm. Entry is £1.50. Stonelaw Church’s Cafe @ The Meeting Place is open Monday to Saturday from 10.30am until 2.30pm. Tea and coffee is available, along with home baking and a second-hand book stall. Stonelaw Church holds 30-minute services in the Meeting Place on the first Wednesday of every month at 2pm. King’s Park Parish Church has a range of activities on offer over the next week. These include: Zumba class, caterpilla­r music, mother and toddlers group, mixed badminton, community cafe, carpet bowls and youth club. It will run from10am until noon and all are welcome to attend. Fernhill and Cathkin Church’s Tuesday tea room is open each week from 9.30am until 11.30am. The Fitness Follies keep fit class meets every Wednesday at 10.30am. Rutherglen West and Wardlawhil­l Church friendship cafe runs every Tuesday from 10am until noon. Refresh is a new venture at Croftfoot Parish Church. Running every Friday from 2pm to 4pm, Refresh will have a number of activities for people to participat­e in, from hand massage to playing pool, and with opportunit­ies to receive spiritual readings and prayer for any need. Tea and coffee will be served. Everything is free of charge and all are most welcome. Burnside Blairbeth Church continue to hold Messy Church services each month. The Messy Church services are aimed at families, and usually start with an hour of crafts and games, where those taking part might get messy. It is then followed by a celebratio­n with a Bible story and singing, finishing with a meal together. Cambuslang Parish Church’s “Paw-some Coffee Morning”, in aid of Cats Protection, will take place in the small hall this Wednesday, June 21 from 10am- noon. All are welcome to go along and enjoy the fun. Castlemilk Parish Church hold community meals on the first and third Fridays of the month. Soup, pizza and pavlova are available from 6pm to 8pm along with live music. The church also has various activities ongoing. See http:// castlemilk­parishch.wixsite.com for details. Volunteers are needed to serve at a lunch club at St Bride’s Church, which is planned to begin after the summer. The St Bride’s Bible study group meet every Thursday night at the St Bride’s Parish House at 7pm, all welcome. A men’s shed has started up in Rutherglen Baptist Community Church. The objective of men’s shed is to give men who have time on their hands a place to meet. A workshop area will be built at one end of thehall, with a relaxation area available to sit and chat and put the world to rights over a cup of tea. Flemington Hallside church holds a community cafe each Thursday from noon until 2pm. The women’s guild meet on Wednesdays at 7pm and friendly hour for the elderly takes place on Thursday afternoons at 2pm.
