A Rutherglen man has been accused of a number of assault charges including spitting on a woman and biting a police officer.

Scott Oliver is alleged to have acted in an aggressive manner, shouted and swore at the woman and spat on her face at Wallace Street, Glasgow on July 3, 2016.

The 24-year-old was further charged with shouting, swearing and repeatedly uttering threats of violence towards a taxi driver and kicked his vehicle.

Oliver, who stays on Castlefern Road, is then said to have spat at and struggled violently with a police constable and repeatedly attempted to bite another on the body.

A trial is due to take place at Glasgow Sheriff Court on July 24. A Castlemilk motorist is alleged to have struck another vehicle when driving under the influence of drink and drugs.

James McPhee is accused of hitting the stationary Vauxhall Zafira when it was situated at a road traffic signal on Castlemilk Road on March 23, 2016.

He is also said to have had herbal cannabis on his possession at the time of the incident.

McPhee, 52, of Tormusk Road, was further charged with driving whilst under the influence of drink and drugs on January 18, 2016.

The accused is due to stand trial at Glasgow Sheriff Court on July 19. Glasgow Sheriff Court will host the trial of a Rutherglen woman accused of attempting to headbutt and spit on police officers.

Natalie McColl, of Hamilton Road, is alleged to have behaved in a threatenin­g or abusive manner at Neilvaig Drive by shouting, swearing, screaming, uttering offensive remarks and threats of violence.

She was further charged with resisting arrest by three police constables by lashing out with her legs and attempting to headbutt and spit on two of them.

McColl, 19, is due to appear for trial on July 21 after it was adjourned at Glasgow Sheriff Court on June 21.
