Rutherglen Reformer - - Memory Lane -

Rutherglen housing officials took urgent action when it was discovered that asbestos was in the homes of 112 families in Blairbeth.

An Eastfield woman was told that she was unable to use her back garden for two years because of constant flooding - and council experts admitted they were baffled as to the cause.

An ambitious plan to restore a tree-lined Rutherglen Main Street to its best was given the seal of approval by the town’s improvement’s committee.

Cambuslang Housing Office apologised to an Eastfield family for moving them back into their home before improvements to it had actually been completed.

Princess Anne visited Rutherglen’s DHSS office, with a crowd of 400 there to see her.
