Court hear­sof po­lice at­tack

A Ruther­glen man has de­nied kick­ing a po­lice of­fi­cer and stamp­ing on an­other.

Daniel Paul Richards, of Green­hill Court, is al­leged to have be­haved in an ag­gres­sive man­ner whilst also shout­ing and swear­ing on Ruther­glen Main Street and in a po­lice ve­hi­cle on March 4, 2017.

He is then said to have made his body limp and thrown it to the ground, tensed his up­per body and flailed his legs in a bid to re­sist or hin­der the of­fi­cers.

Richards, 42, was fur­ther charged with kick­ing a con­sta­ble on the body and stamp­ing on the other as­sist­ing him at Cath­cart Po­lice Of­fice.

The ac­cused pled not guilty at Glas­gow Sher­iff Court on July 5 and is due to re­turn to court on Novem­ber 13.
