School de­lighted to go green and fly its new eco flag

A Cam­bus­lang school has re­ceived its Eco Green flag.

West Coats Pri­mary was com­mended af­ter mak­ing strong links with fam­i­lies and com­mu­nity and en­vi­ron­men­tal or­gan­i­sa­tions.

An Eco-Schools’re­port re­vealed as­ses­sors were im­pressed by the way the ini­tia­tive had been em­bed­ded in the daily life, cur­ricu­lum and ethos of the school and the range of en­vi­ron­men­tal ini­tia­tives they have been in­volved in.

The school’s eco com­mit­tee, which in­cludes pupils Kaylee Walker, Clau­dia Boan, Matthew Noble, Jodi Namys­lak and Jacob Parker, were de­lighted to be re­warded for their ef­forts. Eco-Schools is the largest sus­tain­able schools pro­gramme in the world and con­nects 15 mil­lion chil­dren, young people and ed­u­ca­tors.
