Get along to Cuningar

For­est En­ter­prise Scot­land is en­cour­ag­ing ev­ery­one to join them on Satur­day, July 29 at Cuningar Loop in Ruther­glen for their out­door play event.

This sum­mer, the fa­cil­ity is host­ing a se­ries of en­ter­tain­ing and ex­cit­ing ac­tiv­i­ties for all the fam­ily to en­joy.

The pro­gramme aims to en­cour­age ev­ery­one to have fun in their lo­cal wood­land and en­joy the out­doors.

For any­one look­ing for some­thing a bit dif­fer­ent there will be themed ac­tiv­i­ties on Satur­day and Wed­nes­day, Au­gust 2 and 9.

Hugh McNish, so­cial pro­gramme man­ager at For­est En­ter­prise Scot­land, said:“This is a great oc­ca­sion for all the fam­ily to get out­doors, ap­pre­ci­ate na­ture and so­cialise through a cre­ative ac­tiv­ity.

“It is a good op­por­tu­nity for the com­mu­nity to visit Cuningar Loop and see what this beau­ti­ful green space has to of­fer.”

Cuningar Loop, a Legacy 2014 project, boasts an ex­ten­sive path net­work, ad­ven­ture play, bike skills area, out­door boul­der­ing park, wood­land work­out area, pic­nic ar­eas and an out­door class­room. Craig Thom­son, owner of op­er­a­tion play out­doors, said:“We are pas­sion­ate about the out­doors, na­ture, play and the many ben­e­fits it can bring for chil­dren and young peo­ple.

“This is a great op­por­tu­nity for peo­ple to get in­volved in their lo­cal greenspace by tak­ing part in an ac­tiv­ity they may have never tried be­fore.

“Spend­ing time out­doors en­cour­ages in­ter­ac­tion, meet­ing new peo­ple and de­vel­op­ing a sense of com­mu­nity.”
