Cannabis worth over £160,000 was found by po­lice dur­ing a raid on Ruther­glen Main Street.

Seven men have been ar­rested in re­la­tion to the find.

A fur­ther £11,000 worth was also found in Cam­bus­lang in a sep­a­rate raid.

Drugs with an es­ti­mated street value of £171,000 have been seized by po­lice in Ruther­glen and Cam­bus­lang.

Of­fi­cers act­ing with search war­rants raided two homes on Fri­day when they found what they be­lieve to be cannabis at both premises.

They searched a flat on Ruther­glen Main Street at around 6pm and re­cov­ered a quan­tity of drugs worth an es­ti­mated £160,000.

Seven men, aged 33, 39, 40, 46 and 47 and two aged 38, were ar­rested and are presently de­tained in po­lice cus­tody in con­nec­tion with the find.

In the sec­ond search at Salvia Street, Cam­bus­lang, plants, be­lieved to be cannabis, with a street value of £11,000 were also re­cov­ered.
