Drugs find

Cannabis worth over £160,000 was found by police during a raid on Rutherglen Main Street.

Seven men have been arrested in relation to the find.

A further £11,000 worth was also found in Cambuslang in a separate raid.

Drugs with an estimated street value of £171,000 have been seized by police in Rutherglen and Cambuslang.

Officers acting with search warrants raided two homes on Friday when they found what they believe to be cannabis at both premises.

They searched a flat on Rutherglen Main Street at around 6pm and recovered a quantity of drugs worth an estimated £160,000.

Seven men, aged 33, 39, 40, 46 and 47 and two aged 38, were arrested and are presently detained in police custody in connection with the find.

In the second search at Salvia Street, Cambuslang, plants, believed to be cannabis, with a street value of £11,000 were also recovered.
