Halfway and District
The Halfway and District ladies triple team brought some silverware back to the club on Sunday.
Angela Bilsland, Josie McGeough and Patricia Logan proved they were the top side after winning the Ladies Triples Tournament at Cambuslang.
The Gents Top 10 team were also in action as they travelled to Houldsworth for their first round tie.
At the halfway stage of the game, Halfway were slightly ahead but the home team went on a good run and won the singles, pairs and triples with the Halfway rinks team winning their game.
The Ladies Top 10 campaign got underway last Thursday when Halfway hosted East Kilbride. The pairs and fours won but the singles and triples lost. The overall shots score was 55-52 for East Kilbride so they picked up the extra point to win 5-4.
Halfway travel to Whitefield next Tuesday in a must win game if they are to make it through to the final.
The Lanarkshire League resumes this Friday although the Division 10 team do not have a game due to Eddlewood withdrawing from the league at the last minute. The Division 3 team are at home to Overtown in a must win game.
This Saturday sees the Tennents Triples take place at Halfway and District. A full complement of 24 teams will participate in what is always an enjoyable and competitive day. The Ladies Curley Cup pairs will take place on Sunday with a noon start.
In the RDBA triples league Halfway lost both games against Templeton last week. This week’s opponents were Overtoun Park and next week’s are St Leonard’s.
Both games next week are against St Leonard’s and will be played at home.
On the seniors front the Section 2 team lost both games against Larkhall but the Section 3 team drew at home and won away to Dalserf.
The annual District 26 Triples Competition takes place at Halfway today, Wednesday.
