Queen’s Park

- Murray Spooner

Queen’s Park manager Gus MacPherson believes his players will have to prove doubters wrong again after claiming this year’s League One is tougher than the last.

The Hampden Park boss admitted this week critics are expecting the Spiders to finish in the bottom half of the division due to the addition of full-time Raith Rovers as well as Angus sides Arbroath and Forfar.

Queen’s ended their last campaign four points off the play-off spots.

But gaffer MacPherson knows his players will need another positive showing this term as well as something extra to go one better.

“We’ll be thinking the same as the start of last season,”he told the Reformer.“We will be a few people’s favourites to finish in the bottom half of the table.

“It will be tougher this season. There are three full-time teams when there was only two last year .

“You also have Arbroath and Forfar
