St Bride’s

Volunteers are needed to serve at a lunch club. The St Bride’s Bible study group meet every Thursday night at the parish house at 7pm. The next parish quiz night will be on August 26 in the parish hall, tickets £6. There will be a ladies’ night in the parish hall on September 16. Tickets are £6 and will be on sale soon. Flemington Hallside

Flemington Hallside Church holds a community cafe each Thursday from noon until 2pm. The Women’s Guild meet on Wednesdays at 7pm and friendly hour for the elderly takes place on Thursday afternoons at 2pm.

King’s Park

King’s Park Church will run a children’s holiday club from Monday, August 28, to September 1, from 6.30-8pm each night. There will be lots of fun, games, songs, arts, crafts, challenges and drama as well as juice and biscuits provided. Entry is £1 per night. The church’s lunch club is currently closed. It will return in the last week of September.

Rutherglen West and Wardlawhil­l

Rutherglen West and Wardlawhil­l Church friendship cafe runs every Tuesday from 10am until noon.

Stonelaw

Stonelaw Church’s Cafe@The Meeting Place is open Monday to Saturday from 10.30am until 2.30pm. Tea and coffee is available, along with home baking and second-hand books. The church holds 30-minute services in the meeting place on the first Wednesday of every month at 2pm.

Cambuslang Parish

Cambuslang Parish Church’s cafe is closed for the summer holidays and will reopen on Wednesday, September 6.

Croftfoot

Refresh is a new venture at Croftfoot Parish Church. Running every Friday from 2-4pm, it has a number of activities from hand massage to playing pool and opportunit­ies to receive spiritual readings and prayer for any need.

Rutherglen Old Parish

Rutherglen Old Parish Church is open every Thursday from noon until 2pm for Thoughtful Thursdays, which provides quiet time away from the hustle and bustle. Tea and biscuits are available for £1.

Fernhill and Cathkin

Fernhill and Cathkin Church has started a knit and nattering class that will be held every Thursday from 10am until noon. The tea room is open each week from 9.30-11.30am. The Fitness Follies keep fit class meets every Wednesday at 10.30am.

St Columbkill­e’s

St Columbkill­e’s Church need more volunteers for the parish stall at the weekday 1pm mass. Anyone interested in helping can contact Mairead Brown.

Croftfoot UFC

Croftfoot United Free Church hold T In The Croft every Friday from 10am until noon. They also hold Lunch at the Croft on the first Friday of the month from 11.30am to 1.30pm. Entry is £1.50.

Burnside Blairbeth

Burnside Blairbeth Church hold Messy Church services each month. They are followed by a celebratio­n with a Bible story and singing, finishing with a meal together.

Castlemilk

Castlemilk Parish Church hold community meals on the first and third Fridays of the month. Soup, pizza and pavlova are available from 6pm to 8pm along with live music. The church also has various activities ongoing. See http:// castlemilk­parishch.wixsite.com for details.

Salvation Army

Rutherglen’s Salvation Army has a host of events going on, including toddler groups, the jam club and singing groups.
