Rutherglen Reformer

Primary one pictures bring so much joy

- Douglas Dickie

Autumn is now upon us and that can only mean one thing - the start of the Reformer’s primary one pictures.

This week we are launching our annual feature and every school in our circulation area will be covered.

We are starting with Burgh, Burnside, Calderwood and St Anthony’s this week, but rest assured every school will be catered for over the next few weeks.

It is always a pleasure to bring these pictures to parents, grandparents, aunties, uncles and family friends each year.

Every child is so full of hope for the future and their smiles are bound to brighten any day.

We will be posting details of which schools are appearing in the next edition each week on Facebook and Twitter to make sure parents are kept informed, so make sure you check out our social media pages.

Remember you can purchase pictures from www.scottishanduniversal.newsprints.co.uk.

This week’s pictures are in the middle of the paper. We sincerely hope they bring joy to families across the area.

Elsewhere, it has been confirmed the voters of Rutherglen Central and North are facing another election in November after Gerard Killen MP stood down as a councillor.

Everyone is feeling election fatigue at the moment, but it is important people get out and have their say. You can read more on page four.

Elsewhere, congratulations go to South Lanarkshire Council which has confirmed it is looking at ways to provide sanitary products to girls in our secondary schools.

This is a major issue and the authority should be applauded for taking this step. You can read more on page 11.
