Man detained after fire attack

A man was detained in police custody after allegedly setting fire to a Cambuslang house at the weekend.

The Reformer understands at least one person was in the house at Letterickhills Crescent when it was set alight at 3.30am on Saturday.

Firefighters extinguished the fire and established it had been started deliberately. Police later traced and arrested a 24-year-old man who was due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Monday.
