Blazewas deliberate
Police are continuing their hunt for the those responsible for a deliberate fire in Rutherglen last week.
The blaze at a garage on Farmeloan Road took place just before 11pm on Tuesday, October 3.
Emergency services rushed to the scene and fire fighters were able to extinguish the flames. Locals reported hearing loud explosions as well as a police presence days after the incident.
Detective Constable Neil Dooher said: “We know the fire was set deliberately and from our initial enquiries we are aware that a small, dark coloured car was seen leaving the location around the time of the incident.
“We are keen to speak to the driver and occupants of that vehicle as they may have information which could prove significant in our investigation.
“I am also appealing to any members of the public or other motorists who were in the area at the time, who may have noticed something which seemed a little odd at the time to get in touch with us.”
