A tormented Cambuslang couple have spoken of their two years of misery caused by relentless harassment from their neighbours.

Lynsey and Colin Wrinkler say they have had their lives “turned upside down” by the Donnelly family since an incident in 2015.

The pair have been subjected to threats of violence and say they can no longer let their children go outside their School Lane home to play.

Lynsey now drives her kids to school, despite it being less than half a mile away from her front door, to avoid running into them.

Colin, 31, who is a joiner by trade in Cumbernauld, was threatened with a knife by Peter Donnelly, 53, one evening last year.

Ryan McKenna, 24, who was staying with the Donnellys, admitted to acting aggressively towards Lynsey, 28, in February 2016.

And the mum of three had her foot repeatedly stamped on by Mr Donnelly outside Park View Primary in December of the previous year.

“It’s never-ending and we’re stuck here with no escape,” Lynsey told the Reformer.

“People say we should move but it’s not that easy to just put a ‘for sale’ sign up when you have three young kids.

“It’s frightening for them. I cry constantly and you try to deal with it the best you can and not let the kids see it affects you. But my wee girl is now 11 and she can tell it does.

“It’s had an effect on everything we do, we’re being forced out of our home.”

Mr Donnelly was handed a community payback order of 140 hours after repeatedly stamping on Lynsey’s foot on December 14, 2015.

He then appeared in court alongside his daughter Denise Donnelly and her boyfriend McKenna who were all found guilty of making threats of violence towards Colin during the evening of July 5, 2016.

Mr Donnelly brandished a knife at him while also shouting and making threatening and aggressive gestures towards the father.

He is due to appear for sentencing today, Wednesday, October 18.

His co-accused, Denise Donnelly, 23, was also found guilty after shouting, swearing and uttering threats of violence during the same incident but the sentence has been deferred for November 2 for good behaviour.

McKenna was fined £250 for shouting, swearing, uttering offensive remarks and threats of violence. All three were hit with non-harassment order.

In a separate incident on February 19, 2016, McKenna and Denise Donnelly appeared in the dock over allegations they had shouted, swore and uttered threats of violence towards Lynsey.
