A hard act to follow

-

Around 250 people turned out for Rev Glover’s final sermon at Flemington Hallside.

And Anne Clarkson, session clerk at the church, said he would be a“hard act to follow”.

She added:“It was emotional, but I think we have been building up to it now for a few weeks.

“We had a big session evening two weeks ago and had a night last week for the elders.

“Too see all the people in the church on Sunday was very emotional. It was not just from the congregation but from the whole community, because he made himself known in the community.

“He was well known in schools and even in the pubs from when he would go round them on Christmas Eve.

“He is much loved here and will be a hard act to follow.

“It is very much Aberfeldy’s gain but we have to wish him well. This is what he wants to do but he will be sorely missed.

“He helped bring in new families form all the new housing and we hope what he has built here will last.”

Flemington Hallside now face a wait to find out who their new minster will be.

But Anne is confident the congregation will welcome whoever comes in to the role.

“We do not want to rush into anything, we want to make sure we have the right person .

“We have a strong congregation and will continue to support the other local ministers.”
