Hundreds of tennis fans and players recently attended Kirkhill Lawn Tennis Club’s most successful finals day in their history.

More than 350 people enjoyed a stunning day on the Cambuslang courts as 19 events took place with many medals up for grabs.

David Walker was crowned Gents Singles champion after an entertaining game against Joe Kelly, while Amanda Hart overcame Emma Green in the final of the Ladies Singles.

The matches were followed by a party with food, drinks and entertainment in the newly renovated clubhouse in the evening. And to cap off an ace day, £422.80 was raised to go towards further developments to the club.

Chairperson Jackie Clark said: “This has been our most successful club championship yet with more events than ever and the standard is always improving.
