Autumn edition
Autumn is well and truly upon us here in Rutherglen.
There is nothing quite like that first morning of autumn when the air is so fresh you can see your own breath and leaves have browned and scattered all over the pavement. For me it is the most beautiful time of the year.
For all you sun worshippers, though, the change into the colder weather can be a shock to the system so I am here to make your autumn wardrobe transition that little bit less stressful.
This month I headed down to Peacocks in the Rutherglen Exchange shopping centre to check out their brand new autumn/winter range.
With lots of excellent choices from coats to parkas and beautiful cover-ups, there really is something for everyone.
The first item that really caught my eye was this stunning burgundy cardigan.
Burgundy is the colour of the season, matching well with most colours, and this cardigan can be matched with literally any outfit, whether it be a extra layer under your coat on an evening out or simply a casual cover-up over your jeans.
I matched this cardigan with this gorgeous mustard yellow, floral design blouse.
These colours together create a beautiful autumnal vibe for any outfit. The blouse also has long sleeves with ruffle detailing, perfect for adding a touch of style to any outfit.
I came across this perfect little burnt orange jumper in Peacocks and, honestly, it is the cosiest jumper I have ever tried.
This stunning jumper contains large checked design all over, a high neck (perfect for those cold wintery days) and a dipped hem on the back only, creating a lovely asymmetrical design from front to back.
Everyone needs a cosy jumper at this time of year. It doesn’t matter if you’re just sitting in front of the telly or hitting the shops at the weekend, this is a must-have.
Peacocks currently has such a fantastic knitwear range with many different styles, colours and designs.

This stylish black biker coat turns any outfit from simple to chic. With its faux fur collar and silver zip detail, it really is a stunning coat to cover up in this autumn.

My final find was a classic: the parka.
Famously known as the most reliable jacket you will ever purchase, the parka will keep you warm and dry and, more importantly, they never go out of style.
I chose this perfect camel coloured parka, as opposed to the usual khaki/black versions you normally see around the shops, as camel coats are going to be everywhere this season.
Camel is a great colour to add to darker outfits. It adds a blast of colour and (for any safetyconscious people out there) is also great to wear if you are out on darker nights, making you a little more visible.
This coat contains a beautiful, faux fur-lined hood and is made with a strong weather-resistant material, making it the perfect parka to wear through winter 2017.
