A Rutherglen teenager has been charged with assaulting his mum and behaving in an aggressive manner towards her.

Jordan Buist, 18, is claimed to have repeatedly struck the door of his home on Pinkerton Avenue, where his mum also lived, and demanded entry on June 23, 2017.

He is further alleged to have demanded money from her, seized her on the body and shook her violently on August 9, 2017 at a separate address on the Rutherglen street.

The man, who is also claimed to have shouted, swore and uttered offensive remarks towards his mum, was on bail at the time of the alleged incidents and was absent at his last court hearing on October 30.

However, he is due to appear for trial at Glasgow Sheriff Court on December 1 and maintains his plea of not guilty to the charges.
