Rutherglen Reformer

Gateway seeking aboard member

- Staff reporter

Clyde Gateway is still on the lookout for a Rutherglen resident to join their board.

Membership of the 13-strong board is drawn from each of the three partners – South Lanarkshire Council, Glasgow City Council and Scottish Enterprise – together with individuals who have the responsibility of representing business and community interests.

Community stalwart Tommy Rooney had served on the board for three years until his sudden death in May.

The organisation now hopes to find someone to continue Tommy’s work.

The board meets six times a year at Rutherglen Town Hall while the community committee meets separately on three occasions each year.

Nomination packs and further information can be obtained from Kenny Mackie of community and enterprise resources on 01698 454021 or by e-mail: kenny.mackie@ southlanarkshire.gov.uk.

The closing date for nominations is Thursday, November 30.

It is hoped there will be someone in place ahead of the next board meeting on December 18.
