LIB DEM - ELLEN BRYSON
Ellen Bryson grew up and went to school in Croftfoot and Rutherglen and now lives in Cambuslang.
She graduated from Strathclyde University and trained as a teacher.
She taught in Hamilton and overseas in Malawi before working as a geography teacher in Stonelaw High School for 17 years where she was active in the Fair Trade group.
She has experience chairing a school board, church woman’s group and playgroups and has been active in the Liberal Democrats in Rutherglen for many years.
At present she volunteers at the David Livingstone Centre and Kittochside Museum.
Ellen believes local issues are most important in this election. She wants to represent Rutherglen on the council - not the other way round.
She has obtained action on graffiti, road signs, fly tipping, dog fouling, potholes, pavements, tree trimming, removing an obstructive lamppost, lighting and upgrading the underpasses at Mill Street.
Ellen has campaigned for action on tenement close maintenance and painting and pressed for action on traffic hot spots to improve traffic flows and reduce speed in residential areas.
She is keen to improve the environment of Rutherglen to make it a better place to live and work.
